St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 14, 2008 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 14.

 

Morning practice

The Alouettes held a two-hour practice without shoulder pads this morning, working on several different drills including onside kicks.

 

Afternoon practice

The team practiced for another two hours in the afternoon, with offensive linemen working on positioning, while the defensive line practiced contact drills.

 

Additions

Three players were added to the roster: Offensive tackles Randy Hand (Florida) and Mike Galassi (Walsh) and defensive tackle Jesse Mahelona (Tennessee).

 

Deletions

Five players were released: Running back Andrew Hamilton, tackles Aki Jones and Thomas Smith, linebacker Barry Robertson and cornerback Bruce Thornton.

 

Caoch Trestman

Head coach Marc Trestman said he is pleased with his team’s preparation so far. He was particularly impressed with his players’ leadership abilities in the first pre-season game: “The old players were helping the young ones and everyone was pulling in the same direction.”

 

Tomorrow’s schedule

Practice is scheduled at 9 a.m. and media availability will follow around 10:30 a.m. The location will be confirmed in the early morning.
