Official release – The Grey Cup 2008 organizing committee has announced that already over 30,000 tickets have been sold for the November game.

Tickets were sold during three special promotions: the first one took place during the Grey Cup game in Toronto (Nov. 2007), the second one during the holidays (Dec. 2007) and the third one during the Super Bowl (Feb. 3, 2008). Those promotions were in the media as well as on the Alouettes’ official website, MontrealAlouettes.com. Also, Montreal Alouettes’ season ticket holders had priority for this opportunity.

As of March 8 at noon, the sale will be open to the general public. Fans can purchase their tickets one of the following ways:

1) On MontrealAlouettes.com
2) On the phone at all Admission outlets: 1-800-361-4595 ou 514-790-1245
3) At the Alouettes’ ticket office at 1260 University, 2nd floor (Mon. thru Fri., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

The 96th Grey Cup game will be held on Nov. 23, 2008 at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. The Grey Cup committee is planning a full week of festivities prior to the event and will build a village downtown, like in 2001, to centralize all the action. A total of 65,255 spectators attended the game in 2001.

With tickets starting at $84, this is one of the most affordable major sporting events. Fans must act early in order to avoid disappointments.
