Montreal - Staying on the offensive side of the ball, the Montreal Alouettes used their fourth round draft choice, 28th overall, to pick wide receiver Terence Firr, of the University of Manitoba Bisons.
A two-time Canada West Conference All-Star in 2005 and 2006, Firr was most recently a key member in the Bison’s 2007 perfect regular season and Vanier Cup victory over Saint Mary’s.
In seven regular season games, he tallied 30 receptions for 427 yards and one touchdown. In the Vanier Cup, Firr showed his veteran poise and talent, leading the Bisons with four catches for 82 yards.
Over the course of his four-year university career, Firr was a true model of consistency for the Bisons, racking up three consecutive 30-reception seasons to finish with 124 career catches for 1,687 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Occasionally given the opportunity to showcase his speed, he also added nine kickoff returns for 178 yards.
Prior to joining the Bisons, the Windsor, ON, native led the Ontario Football Conference with 43 receptions for 772 yards in 2003 and added 16 kickoff returns for 563 yards.
