Montreal Driving down the 401 en route to their Friday night contest against the Argonauts for their first meeting with Toronto this year, several Alouettes will have more than just the game on their minds.

Though winning is always priority number one, some Alouettes have been enjoying their ride on the rollercoaster called the 2008 CFL season so much, that they’d be willing to get back in line and do it all over again.

Statistically, the Alouettes have been dominant this season on the offensive side of the ball.

Avon Cobourne, for one, is on pace to become the first player in the CFL’s 50-year existence to rush for 1,000 yards and receive for 1,000 yards in the same season.

Though Cobourne still has a ways to go in this long CFL season, it’s his consistency that is drawing attention towards the speedy back.

A double threat on the field, Cobourne’s ability to alter his game from rushing to receiving has enabled him to succeed.

Count on Cobourne for yet another big game against a struggling Argonauts defence that allowed 41 points against the Tiger-Cats last week, while giving up over 200 yards on the ground.

While Cobourne is the new highlight to the Alouette offence, veterans Anthony Calvillo and Kerry Watkins are showing very little signs of aging as both are on pace to enjoy career seasons.

Calvillo currently leads all pivots in passing attempts with 266, completions with 181 and completion percentage at 68 per cent, while Watkins leads the league in receiving touchdowns.

Coming off a big win in Winnipeg last week, the Als will look to continue their dominance of the East Division as they have yet to lose against a divisional opponent.

The Als will get their first look at reigning league MVP Kerry Joseph in his new uniform as the former Roughrider will try to lead Toronto to a tie with Montreal for first overall in the East.

The Alouettes play the Argonauts in Toronto at the Rogers Centre this Friday at 7:30 p.m. (RDS/TSN/CKAC SPORTS/CJAD 800).
