Montreal, Feb. 2, 2010 – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that Canadian fullback Dahrran Diedrick has signed a new contract for two years and plus an option. He was one of the team’s potential free agents.
“This is great news – Dahrran has been an important part of our success, and one of our top special teams players. His experience provides great insight in our locker room,” said Jim Popp.
Diedrick (6’0’’, 222 lbs) will be in his sixth season in the CFL – his fifth with Montreal – after being drafted in the third round by the Eskimos in 2002. He played 14 games with the Alouettes in 2009, finishing second on the team with 12 special teams tackles. He also recorded 106 yards on 19 carries, six yards on a kickoff return and four defensive tackles.
