Official release, Montreal, June 5, 2008 – Montreal Alouettes VP and General Manager Jim Popp announced this morning that free agent Jason Armstead has signed with the Alouettes.

Armstead (5’10”, 160 lbs.) is a five-year veteran wide receiver and return specialist who has played with the Ottawa Renegades, the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was a 2005 CFL and East Division All-Star, finishing fifth in the league and leading the Renegades with 1,307 yards and five touchdowns on 89 catches. He has also recorded over 5,000 kick-return yards in the CFL.

Armstead is expected at the Alouettes’ training camp tomorrow at Campus du Fort St-Jean.
