S.J. Green traded to the Toronto Argonauts

Montreal – The Montreal Alouettes announced on Thursday that the club has traded receiver S.J. Green to the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for the team’s sixth round pick in the 2017 CFL Canadian Draft, as well as a conditional pick in the 2018 draft.

Green (6’3″, 220 lbs.) played ten seasons for the Alouettes, catching 444 passes good for 6,626 yards and 42 touchdowns in 116 games. He helped the Alouettes win two Grey Cups in 2009 and 2010, hauling in nine catches for 102 yards in the latter game.

“Today, we would like to thank S.J. for all of his contributions and devotion to our team and organization,” declared Alouettes General Manager Kavis Reed. “Our fans were privileged to see one of the most spectacular players in the CFL during the last ten years. S.J. was also involved in the community. It was a pleasure working alongside a true professional like S.J. on a daily basis. Decisions like these are never easy to make. On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to wish S.J. the very best.”
