Stefan Logan: Age is nothing but a number

Stefan Logan will be playing in his 59th career CFL game tonight when the Alouettes take on the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton. At age 35, the running back is proving that he is still to reach his peak fitness.

35 years old with plenty of energy

Logan contends that the energy that his teammates bring is among the reasons why he is still able to perform at such a high calibre despite his age.  “My teammates bring a lot of energy and it’s because of them that I’m able to keep going. The other day I was talking with Jim Popp and I said that the moment you start thinking you are too old, it’s then that you start slowing down. My age really doesn’t bother me. In fact, I don’t even think about it. There are times I will completely forget my age, because when I’m on the field, I have one thing in mind: putting points on the scoreboard. Age is only a number, and there is no point getting worked up about that number. You should only focus upon things that you can control,” said the Alouettes running back.

Kavis Reed: an intense and passionate man, according to Logan

Logan only had flattering words for his special teams coach, Kavis Reed. “There are a lot of words that could be used when describing him as a coach. He loves his players and he loves football. He is very passionate about the sport as though he was still a player. As a team, we have tremendous respect for this man. He is an excellent coach,” said the Miami, Florida native.

Respect from the entire special teams unit towards Reed

It’s not only Stefan Logan who is a big Kavis Reed fan. “When he is on the practice field or on the sidelines, he gives it his all just like we do. I have never had a relationship with any other coach like the one I have with Kavis. As our special teams coach, he is always pushing us to do our best. He gives us a lot of energy, and as special teams players we don’t want to let him down.Logan said.

Don’t miss the Alouettes when they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. on TSN and TSN690.
